Privacy policy
Have a lawyer review this page before launch. It describes how the software actually behaves.
What we collect
When you post a notice: your name, phone number, email and relationship to the deceased, the details and photos you add, and payment records from Paystack. Your phone number and email are never shown publicly. When you leave a message or share a photo: the name and words you enter.
What we do not store
We do not store visitors' IP addresses. To stop spam and duplicate candles we keep a one-way, salted fingerprint that cannot be turned back into an IP address. Public pages set no cookies; a short-lived session cookie is used only while you fill in a form, edit a notice, or use the admin area.
How long we keep it
Unfinished drafts are deleted after 14 days. Standard notices show in full for 90 days and then become a simpler archived page; gallery photos, shared photos and programmes are deleted at that point. Forever memorials stay until the family removes them. Families can remove a notice at any time.
Your rights
Under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019 you can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data. Families can do most of this themselves from the Edit page; for anything else, contact us.
Who we share with
Paystack processes payments. Our email provider delivers receipts. If enabled, Cloudflare serves pages faster. We never sell personal data.
